In almost 50 percent of all pedestrian accidents that resulted in one or more fatalities in 2015, either the person on foot or the motorist was impaired. In 34 percent of these accidents, the pedestrian registered a blood alcohol concentration of at least 0.08. In 15 percent of these accidents, the motorist registered a blood alcohol concentration of at least 0.08.
